Coffee Drinker Health

untitled (326) untitled (325)Can something like coffee really be good for you?  If you are a coffee drinker you will want to believe that it is good for your health as you have no plans to quit any time soon.  If you are the coffee snob you will preach the virtues of coffee as long as anyone will listen but what is the science.  Well as with anything in this life, coffee is good for you in moderation.  Too much of anything can be bad for you.  So just remember the coffee is not the only thing you need to survive.  Eric Gonchar is a coffee lover and has no plans to quit.

Quit Coffee Cold Turkey?

untitled (239) images8BC59ZFUI quit coffee cold turkey and found that it isn’t that easy.  By noon I had a slitting head ache and had to lay down.  My energy level was low and I needed my coffee.  I made me a cup and was back on my feet in minutes.  Am I a coffee junkie?  I then decided to go with decaf.  The decaf was terrible and didn’t help with the head ache.  I gave it a day and caved.  The next morning I had me that good cup of Joe and said I will never quit.  Thanks to Dana Sibilsky the decaf was great but not for me.

Coffee too Strong?

untitled (214) images (16)Why are all the coffee shops serving such strong coffee?  Am I the only one that thinks the coffee is too strong?  Why do I have to dump in a bunch of cream to be able to tolerate it?  Do people build up a resistance to regular coffee and require stronger coffee as time goes on?  If this is true then why do I continue to hate strong coffee?  The best way to deal with all the ultra strong coffees is to simply avoid the shops that serve it that way.  In my interview with David Jensen I had coffee that was too strong and it rattled me.

Coffee Good for your Health?

untitled (8) untitled (7) untitled (6)Every day you here about something is good for your health.  Coffee is now among the red wines and beer groups.  I hear now that coffee is good for you in moderation.  It apparently kick starts your metabolism and get you going in the morning.  I guess that I could have told you that with out the million dollar study.  I give up,  what is the truth?  Milk is bad for you then it is good for you,  Butter is no good then it is.  I think that we really don’t know what is good or bad so do as you wish.  No matter what,  they will say it is good for you eventually.  Phil Pustejovsky  is a coffee drinker and does not plan to stop any time soon.

Burnt Coffee

tumblr_m9w8eu8jvD1rsleueThe office coffee is the worst.  My boss likes it burnt.  He is so cheap that he runs the day old coffee back threw the percolator.  The burnt smell would fill the office.  He might add some more coffee and water to make a full pot.  It was enough for me to skip the cup that was offered.  To survive I began putting cream and sugar into the coffee to offset the burnt component. It worked and to this day I cant drink coffee without both.  If your boss is that cheap I would try sneaking into the coffee room at the end of the day and empty the pot.  Eric Gonchar would drink any coffee anywhere.

Coffee at Starbucks

imagesND41PR8CCoffee at Starbucks is good but is it worth six dollars?  I say no.  The convenience is worth something but you can make a whole pot of coffee for the price of one cup there.  So why do people spend their money there?  Is it a trend or fad that will eventually fail.  I guess the fact that they have been in business for years says no.  So what is it that attracts millions every day to the local Starbucks?  Just don’t think too much about it and enjoy the morning cup on the way to work like everyone else.  Dana Sibilsky drinks Starbucks coffee every day, even on days off and will as long as he can afford it.

Is a Coffee Press Right for You?

There are many types of coffee drinkers out there, and for every type of coffee drinker there is a different method of preparation that is ideal. For the caffeine junkie who only views coffee as a means to an end, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the coffee available at the gas station or brewed out of one of those single-serving plastic containers. For the enthusiastic coffee aficionado, the use of a French press is almost a necessity to ensure that the coffee beans reach their full potential.

According to Luke Weil of SkuRun, a coffee press is a product that serious coffee consumers view as a necessity. It functions in the simplest of fashions and in a manner consistent with its name, yielding a cup of coffee that is brewed in a very slow and gradual manner. This brings out many complex flavors that discerning coffee drinkers greatly appreciate, and the process itself harkens back to a simpler and seemingly more carefree time.

If you find yourself pondering whether or not the coffee made in your traditional coffee pot is as pleasing as it should be, it is perhaps time to consider using a French press. You will likely find that the simple process yields very complex flavors that are quite rewarding to your taste buds.

I Need my Morning Coffee!

If you are like me, you have to have that cup or two of coffee in the morning to function.  I mean that without my coffee I am not myself.  I get a major head ache and cant function.  I understand this and avoid running out of coffee.  It would be a disaster if I had to go without coffee.  Just try to imagine a world without coffee.  Everyone would be staggering around like zombies!  The coffee shortage would shut down any energy efforts.  The resulting world would fall into the past.  Soon we would be riding horses to work and washing in streams. In my interview with David Jensen  got a glimpse of how it would be.
